Why can’t we just follow European standards for food safety?

This sort of post makes me angry – not because of the content, but because it should never have been an issue. Why are major manufacturers adding bromine compounds (and a lot of other debatable ingredients) to food and drinks? This is a flame retardant chemical. How can it be banned for Europeans, but supposedly “safe” for Americans! Dr. Mercola always does a great job of raising issues that we need to be aware of.

I rarely drink sodas – but I know lots of people who do.
