One of the meals I like at a local Asian restaurant is the Beef and Broccoli – but I am conscious that all the sauces probably make it less healthy than I would prefer. So… I was delighted to find this recipe for a crockpot version of Beef and Broccoli on Dr. Axe’s website.
Want to create your own version of Chinese takeout, in that it’s ready to eat almost as soon as you get home? But that it’s also much healthier and more flavorful? Then this crockpot meal is just for you and yours. It’s also easy to make and if you have kids, they’ll love it, too. You won’t be disappointed, try it!
Crockpot Beef and Broccoli RecipeTotal Time: 6-8 hoursServes: 2
- 1 lb thin beef ribeye, sliced into strips
- 1/4 cup coconut aminos
- 2 tbsp white wine
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- 2 cloves smashed and chopped garlic
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 head of broccoli, broken into pieces
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Note: Coconut aminos is a substitute for soy sauce. I prefer it as it not as strongly flavored, nor as salty as soy sauce. You can find it at larger supermarkets, or WholeFoods, or you can buy it on Amazon or other online vendors)
