Cultured dairy or fermented foods (ideally organic and raw) — these are beneficial for replacing good bacteria in the gut since they provide probiotics. Probiotics help control yeast and also have numerous immune-enhancing effects. For other sources of probiotics, in addition to yogurt or kefir try cultured foods like kimchi, kombucha or sauerkraut.
1. Tea tree oil can be helpful when treating toenail fungus. It is an antiseptic in addition to having anti fungal properties. This means it can be quite beneficial for toenail fungus specifically. Medium chain fatty acids are almost miracles in how they work as natural fungicides. The fungal membrane is crucial to maintaining the “life” of the fungus, which is why many antifungal treatments target the fungal membrane. Fatty acids, such as the ones found abundantly in coconut oil, naturally insert themselves in the lipid (fat) layer of the fungal membrane and disturb it, leading eventually to cell disintegration and the ultimate destruction of the fungus (to put it in a nutshell.)

I’ve read about good results from various methods. I’m just beginning a regime, but am wondering would it help or hinder to try two methods at the same time, such as the vinegar/water soak and Vicks? It seems if there are multiple types of fungus and some remedies work on one type but not another, I wondered if this might speed up the results. I just realized I had toe fungus on multiple toes after thinking they were just damaged due to hiking. It’s been over three years and I am ready to have my normal toes back!
