I have a terrible fungus under my right big toe. Now I have a patch of rough skin that itches all the time just above the bend of the foot on my shin bone. It seems to be working down the top of my foot. My dermatologist told me this was as a result of the fungus and could go all the way to my knee. I am very skeptical about this. Hi, I have been treating my toenail fungus with distilled vinegar. It helped for a while but seems like it’s back. To avoid the hassle of gloves and soaks, I put some in a small spray bottle from the dollar store and sprayed my toenail twice a day. Then put the socks on. Now I think I will crush some salt and mix with coconut oil. And will use q-tip for applying to make things easier. Anyone tried mixing before?

Both me and my husband had fungus on a couple of our toe nails. After trying a few different methods, I finally discovered something that actually works and is the cheapest option. Instead of soaking our feet in vinegar and water, I would soak up a piece of cotton ball that was big enough to cover the nail with vinegar only. I did not dilute the vinegar. Then I would place the vinegar soaked cotton ball on the nails every night before bed for 15 min. To make this process easier I filled up a small empty hand sanitizer with the vinegar because it was easier to soak up the cotton ball and applying extra drops while the cotton ball was already on the nails. After about 2-3 weeks I noticed my nails clearing up. It has been a few months now and one of my nails is completely back to normal. I would also occasionally apply Vicks vapor rub as well, usually before work in the morning and put on my socks right after. Be prepared to feel that sensation that vicks gives because my husband didn’t like that very much so I applied some after the vinegar. When putting the vinegar soaked cotton balls on our nails both me and my husband felt our nails get a tingling sensation. It never hurt or irritated the skin. The first thing to notice that it is working is when the cutical is starting to disattach from the funus infected nail. I’ve tried different remedies and this has been effective, cheap, and easy. It is definitely worth a try and don’t get discouraged, it won’t clear it up right away. It takes time and once you notice the change its a big relief.
