Toenail fungus, medically known as Onychomycosis, is a potentially embarrassing problem which can be difficult to treat. Although it may not work for everyone, you can use vinegar to help treat your mild to moderate case of toenail fungus. Additionally, support your treatment process by undertaking preventative care. However, it’s best to see your doctor if you aren’t sure if you have a fungal infection, your infection worsens, or you have diabetes.

I have had nail fungus for about 10 years. I half-heartedly tried to cure it a couple of times and of course it didn’t work. Now I am determined to get rid of it this time. If you have diabetes, you may have reduced blood circulation and nerve supply in your feet. You're also at greater risk of a bacterial skin infection (cellulitis). So any relatively minor injury to your feet — including a nail fungal infection — can lead to a more serious complication. See your doctor if you have diabetes and think you're developing nail fungus.
First, mix 1 cup of your chosen vinegar with enough water to soak your feet in. Soak for 15 minutes, and then pat dry with paper towels. Follow this by adding several tablespoons of baking soda to enough water to soak your feet in, and soak for 15 minutes. Pat feet completely dry with paper towels. Do this twice a day. The idea is that the vinegar will kill off the fungus, while the baking soda will then inhibit the growth of more.
Use soap and water to wash your feet, and dry well, including between toes. Trim your toenails -- straight across -- to keep them shorter than the end of your toe. Make sure the tools you use are clean, too. Wash clippers and files with soap and water, then wipe with rubbing alcohol. You might be tempted to cover up discolored nails with polish, but don't. Your nail bed can't "breathe," which keeps fungus from going away.
Use it daily for at least two weeks. You may see and feel improvements in the health of your infected skin after the first week, but treat the infected foot for an additional week or two after it improves to ensure that all of the fungus has been killed. I used the vinegar soak method morning and night daily on a persistent foot fungus infection and it disappeared completely after two weeks.

With natural antiseptic and antifungal properties, castor oil and tea tree oil for nail fungus have been used for centuries. Undiluted tea tree oil can be applied directly to affected nails to help kill fungus; ten minutes after application, gently massage the oil into the nail using an old toothbrush. When applied to surrounding skin, tea tree oil is best diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut or olive oil. Continue to use daily until several weeks after new nail growth has occurred to prevent the fungus from returning.
REPLACE: Simply switching to a natural diet of healthy, whole, unprocessed and fresh foods can go a long way toward restoring your gut health. Repair the health of your digestive system with lots of green leafy lettuces and plenty of fresh veggies. Balance your macronutrients with added healthy fats and healthy proteins. The natural fiber found in fresh veggies will help to strengthen the health of the digestive system and restore bacterial balance. The benefits of fats and proteins are too numerous to mention, but when it comes to yeast infections, these macronutrients help to reduce cravings for sugar and keep you feeling fuller for longer periods.    
I was successful with apple cider vinegar. Had used prescription “polish” from my Dr and over the counter stuff…nothing. I didn’t want to sit with whole foot soaking all the time so I got a bag of small balloons, filled with ACV – sometimes Listerine and ACV mix, stuck it on my big toe and now I was mobile. My bride shook her head but I could get up and do stuff around the house like normal or go outside. Within a week or two, could tell the new nail coming out was clean…did this for a month or so.
Like athletes foot, you can work towards preventing enail fungus by keeping feet clean and, most importantly, dry. Don’t re-wear socks, and stick to open toed shoes if possible. It takes time and patience to get rid of toenail fungus, and for the nail to grow back healthy and normal again. Be diligent about applying your treatments (I can’t stress that enough, it’s really the key to getting these to work the best they can) and don’t overlook preventative methods to keep the fungus from coming back.
Australian tea tree oil is a two or three applications remedy. Toe nail fungus hides under the nail, but its weakness is it needs air. So after soaking your foot in hot water for a time, get a wooden tooth pick and dig under the nail to remove as much fungus as you can. You will be surprised how far in you can go. Using about the third toothpick dip that in tea tree oil several times to fill under the nail. Then dig back under the nail to get the oil as far in as you can. Its cheap , its no fuss and its natural. Tea tree oil also fixes athletes foot, Ringworm and other fungal ailments regardless of area affected. Friend had a fungal condition on his anus.
