The first step in treating toenail fungus is using one of the most effective and natural ways to fight candida. In other words, you’ll likely need to make some changes in your diet and adopt a candida diet. The most crucial tactic for treating candida overgrowth is to eliminate what feeds the yeast and candida virus living in your digestive tract in the first place: sugars and conventional grain products.
Toenail fungus, medically known as Onychomycosis, is a potentially embarrassing problem which can be difficult to treat. Although it may not work for everyone, you can use vinegar to help treat your mild to moderate case of toenail fungus. Additionally, support your treatment process by undertaking preventative care. However, it’s best to see your doctor if you aren’t sure if you have a fungal infection, your infection worsens, or you have diabetes.

Persistent fungal signs can show up slowly but last for years. Getting rid of toenail fungus can take some patience and requires time to fully heal. It can take several months until treatment is successful, but doing things the right way and getting rid of the underlying cause of nail fungus is the only thing that will keep the infection from coming back again.
Don’t be ashamed! We all have stuff like this going on. There are two trains of thought with nail polish and nail fungus. One is that it does absolutely nothing harmful, the other is that it prevents any treatment from reaching the nail with the utmost efficiency. I am inclined to say that the treatments would work their best without polish, however I also don’t think they would be rendered ineffective if you did choose to use it. If you feel more comfortable with the polish, keep it. If you find you aren’t having success, try it without. And don’t fret over what your husband will think, he chose to marry you, and a little toenail fungus isn’t going to change anything 😉

Undecylenoyl glycine is a natural substance derived from sunflower and oat proteins. This is added to Fungus Fix for two reasons: this is a natural antibacterial which can help control any bacterial infections that may be commensal with the fungus; undecylenoyl glycine also helps to support the natural acidity of the skin, making it more difficult for secondary bacterial infections to begin.
Following this protocol for several months might be able to help solve the problem for good, and then you can slowly reintroduce sources of sugar like fruit, or whole grains, while monitoring your progress. However, keep in mind that some candida or yeast sufferers have lived with their condition for years, so combating the issue might take more than just a few weeks or months.

Hi Claire I’m wondering if you can help advise me, I have had a fungal problem now that started a year ago on my right thumb nail. Doctors have been unhelpful with treatments to the point I have been sent to see a dermatologist. My doctors never took sample before prescribing treatments. I have spent a lot of money on raw coconut oil. I have found that it causes the skin around my thumb to harder and cause more pain. My problem is that over the last few weeks 8 of my toes have turned fungal. I found a recipe using Baking soda and a few drops of tea tree and lavender to make an anti fungal drying foot powder, it’s complete aggravated my situation and I too had been using foot soaks as you describe above. Obviously I can’t type everything here that I have tried but I have been persistant, when I showed my doctor my toes yesterday, he looked puzzled that could be so bad when my feet look so healthy otherwise. To get to my point I have been saying to them that the source of this is internal. But they say its not showing in blood test.

Cinnamon oil, yet again, is a strong anti-fungal oil just like clove oil. This is again due to the presence of eugenol which has effective action against fungus. Cinnamon has been proved highly effective against Candida yeast infection which is also one of the causes of toenail fungus. What is important is that you can topically apply cinnamon oil to cure your toe nail fungus and also have it internally in the form of cinnamon tea to treat your overall yeast infection.
But the earlier you treat the nail infection, the more likely you are to cure it, explains, Joshua Zeichner, MD, a New York City–based board-certified dermatologist and director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. “Treatment can take several months, even up to a year, as you need to wait for healthy nail to grow out, which is a slow process,” he says.
Use soap and water to wash your feet, and dry well, including between toes. Trim your toenails -- straight across -- to keep them shorter than the end of your toe. Make sure the tools you use are clean, too. Wash clippers and files with soap and water, then wipe with rubbing alcohol. You might be tempted to cover up discolored nails with polish, but don't. Your nail bed can't "breathe," which keeps fungus from going away.
